In the sublimation industry, time is money. The more units you can produce in an hour, the more money you will make. Reduced downtime is a crucial step in increasing production efficiency.

The following are simple steps you may take to make your manufacturing space more efficient.

Organize Your Workspace: Organization is critical for efficiency, whether you have a commercial workshop or a home-based business. To cut down on the time it takes to apply transfers to substrates, make sure you have a staging area stocked with heat tape, scissors, and other necessities. Make a special cooling space where you can swiftly remove your transfers and allow your products to cool completely. You'll be able to go on to preparing the next press as a result of this. Set aside space for a packing area with workspace, pre-prepared boxes, and a postage meter, so you can spend less time shipping and more time selling, printing, and pressing.

Reduce Your Waste: Sublimation production requires a lot of trial and error. However, there are several basic steps you may take to assist reduce waste. Stack pressed substrates only after they have totally cooled, as they may still transfer color to another substrate. To avoid ghosting, remove sublimation paper quickly and evenly after the substrate has been removed from the heat press. Before applying the transfer to the fabric, use a lint roller to remove any dust, lint, or stray strands. This will help prevent small blue speckles from appearing on the fabric unexpectedly. Always print photos slightly larger than the size of your substrate to allow for an alignment margin of error.

Beware of Hidden Moisture: Sublimation paper and substrates generally contain moisture that doesn't come out until the heat press is turned off. Color shifting, picture bleeding, and uneven transfer of solid filled areas can all be caused by moisture during the pressing process. Keep your sublimation paper in a tight plastic container or store it in a cold, dry place to avoid the sheets gathering moisture from the air. Instead of Teflon sheets, use unwaxed butcher paper or plain newspaper paper, as the material will better absorb any moisture generated while pressing. Pre-press garments, medium-density fiberboard (MDF), or neoprene substrates to remove any concealed moisture before applying your sublimation paper.
